What a day! On Wednesday 19th July, we held our first Inspire SummerFest at the beautiful Gosford Forest Park in Markethill.
This was a chance for volunteers and the people who use our services to come together, connect and enjoy a day outdoors.
We had fairground games, music, sports and a range of activities provided by expert facilitators, including a fascinating ‘Bushcraft’ walk – which taught us all about how to use plants and trees in the woods – forest meditation, a sound bath and relaxing rhythmic drumming.
Our generous partners provided us with plenty of snacks and while some people brought their own picnics, others made use of the hot food available at the park. Later on, everyone had the chance to get a free ‘99’ ice cream just by showing their SummerFest VIP pass.
We had such good fun taking part in the games and meeting everyone. We even caught a little bit of the sun thanks to the rain holding off until the very end.
Thank you to everyone who came along and made it possible. From the feedback so far, it looks like SummerFest will be back, bigger and better in 2024.
