We’re one week away from one of the biggest days on the mental health calendar: Time to Talk Day. Time to Talk Day is all about creating supportive communities by having conversations about mental health.
Last summer, we took the concepts for Time to Talk Day on the road and, during our Ideas Generators workshops, heard directly from the people who use our services. We asked them how the campaign should look and listened to their ideas and insights.
We are proud to announce that the theme in 2024 is Say What You Really Mean. Even when people say “I’m all good”, “I’m grand” or “I’m not too bad”, the truth is often quite different.
As ever, Time to Talk Day’s key aim is simple: to encourage crucial discussions between friends, family, co-workers and peers. We’re encouraging everyone to take part on Thursday 1st February and there are lots of ways to get involved.
You could organise a walk-and-talk event to get out and about on Time to Talk Day, allowing people the chance to clear their minds, enjoy a change of scenery and open up.
Why not put on a quiz and drop in some mental health-related questions here and there? You can also download our bingo card or true-or-false game to get conversations started in innovative ways.
We’ve loads of more ideas and resources – including social media banners, bunting, posters and tip cards – available on our dedicated campaign website. However, if you need anything else, just let us know. If you need some money to put your idea into practice, why not consider putting in a quick application through Freedom to Try. There is up to £100 per service available. Please put your requests through InSource.
Whatever you do, we want to hear about it. So, e-mail your photos to Ashleigh Browne (ashleigh.browne@inspirewellbeing.org) and we can share them across our social media, highlighting all the fun stuff that #TeamInspire is getting up to on the big day. Don’t forget to tag us on Instagram (@Inspire_Wellbeing), and Facebook and Twitter (both @InspireWBgroup), using #TimetoTalk.
If you have any questions, email Jenna j.booth@inspirewellbeing.org.
